Unlimited Praise

"Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." (PSALM 96:1-3)
Scripture Focus: Psalm 150

Start your day by giving praise to God. Watch how He will give you reasons to praise Him. It may be something ordinary like a bird's song or something special like the concert that was recently available. I marveled at the sounds of various instruments in an orchestra and the sounds of an accompanying pianist. My heart reaches out in praise to God. But as magnificent as a concert can be, your tired body has to fight falling asleep throughout the performance.

Weariness isn't the only thing that interrupts praise. Angry words or bad news will do the same. When my heart is disturbed, I've learned that dwelling on the details is not productive. Instead I pray, "Thank You, Lord, that You know all about this trial and are in control of the events." Here are words to console you: "For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess His name" (Hebrews 13:14-15).

Insight: The more you give praise to God, the more you will want to praise him by what you say or what you do for others.
