Weapon Number One

"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb..."  (REVELATION 12:11)
Scripture Focus: Exodus 12:1-13

We do well to ponder the wonder of the blood of Jesus, shed on Calvary. His poured-out blood represents the totality of Jesus' atoning work. How powerful is it? First, "Through the blood of the eternal covenant [Jesus] was brought back from the dead" (Hebrews 13:20). He broke the bonds of death by His blood. He stood alive on earth by the resurrection power of His own blood.

Second, we read that He appeared in heaven where He presented His blood. "He (Jesus) did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption" (Hebrews 9:12). When God almighty saw the blood of Jesus, the victory was won. Jesus died as God's Lamb without spot or blemish even though He was tempted to the extreme by Satan. Jesus overcame Satan by the power of His own blood.

Knowing that there is only one way to overcome Satan - that is by appealing to the powerful blood of Jesus - is enough for me. "Nothing but the blood of Jesus"!

Insight: We Need Not Stand Powerless Before The Tempter. Remain Under The Covering Of The Blood Of Jesus; By His Power, We Are "Overcomers."
