God and the Earth's Wonders

"Those living far away fear your wonders; where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy" (Psalm 65:8).
Scripture Focus: Psalm 65:5-13

From the North Pole to Antarctica, the place God created for His children to dwell is stunning. We may travel in person or view photography to behold it all. We have seen beneath the sea and from impossibly high, snowy mountain peaks; we have seen life-teaming rain forests and wind-swept desert sands; we have seen islands surrounded by aquamarine waters; we've seen glaciers, tundra, verdant valleys. And even for those whose views are limited: clouds, sunsets, sun rises! Everywhere, everywhere, everywhere-all people are surrounded by the beauty of creation and the colorful creatures that inhabit it.

Imagine if our world had been sepia-toned and monotonous. We would have never known the difference. Impossible! Our glorious planet issues from our glorious God! Furthermore, all the splendor of the earth is only a hint of the new heaven and earth of which the Bible foretells. Creation is awe-inspiring now and foreshadows even more wonders later. Our hearts indeed erupt with shouts of joy!

Insight: Make it a point to see what is around you. Notice the details, the colors, the shapes. God made it all for you!
