Leading Others to Jesus
"The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, 'We have found the Messiah' (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus." (John 1:41)
Scripture Focus: John 1:35-42
A writer said, "If by my writing I could reach just one soul for Jesus through what I have written, I shall be successful. For if I bring in one, that one will bring in another."
John the Baptist and two of his followers, including Andrew, saw Jesus one day. "Look, the Lamb of God," John told them. Out of curiosity, they followed Jesus. After a day with Him, they were eager to share Him with others. Andrew found his brother Simon Peter and led him to meet Jesus. They both became His disciples.
Nowhere in the Bible do we find how many other people Andrew brought to Jesus. But he brought Peter and, in his lifetime, Peter led many people to the Savior. For example, when Peter preached to the crowd on the Day of Pentecost, 3,000 people believed (Acts 2:41). By one small act, Andrew changed lives.
If each of us can bring one person into His kingdom, it will be worth it, for God can multiply what we do. One by one, they will come to Jesus.
Insight: God's love changes our hearts. As we experience His love and forgiveness, we become eager to share it with other people.
