Broken, in Need of Repair

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."  (Ephesians 2:10)
Scripture Focus: Psalm 139

Recently in the UK there have been several TV programs about building restoration. Some are relatively small-scale projects where a derelict barn, workshop, or warehouse is converted into a family home. However, there has been an annual series in which the public votes on which ancient building is restored to its former glory. Apart from funding, the greatest challenge is finding suitably qualified craftsmen to accurately and sensitively carry out the work: there aren't too many medieval stonemasons and such around these days!

God is the architect, designer, master craftsman and creator of each and every one of us. He holds the patent and the copyright. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13-14). Unless we return to the original builder, then we are entrusting our souls to unqualified, unskilled and ultimately incompetent hands. May our creation in Christ Jesus spur our broken spirits on to a life rich in praise for Him.

Insight: If You Are Feeling Broken And In Need Of Repair, Put Yourself In The Hands Of The Craftsman Who Made You, The Creator And Lord.
