+DEV+ Thirsty?

Thirsty?

"Let them give thanks for his unfailing love for he satisfies the thirsty, and fills the hungry with good things."  (Psalm 107: 9)
Scripture Focus: John 4:4-15

On traveling through Colorado several times, I've learned through experience (that is, the hard way!) how the high altitude and the low humidity give one a deep thirst which, if not properly quenched, affects the whole body.

Jesus surely knew this kind of thirst, walking as He did through the hot, dry desert paths of Israel. When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, He was thirsty, but He knew immediately that the thirst she suffered from - a thirsty heart - was deeper yet. Eventually the woman recognized Jesus was offering her Himself, the thirst-satisfying Giver of eternal life.

Heart thirst is common to everyone. Trying to walk through life without Christ's living water is like trying to hike through the desert without real water - the end results of both are deadly. If you have never asked Christ to quench your heart thirst with His salvation, won't you do it now? If you already have trusted Jesus, but are still trying to satisfy your soul with something other than Him, won't you come to Him today?

Insight: Like the woman at the well i was seeking; and then i heard my savior speaking; 'draw from my well that never shall run dry.' (Clara T. Williams, 1875)
